The health informatics program taught me how to be a leader in the informatics industry. One aspect of being a leader is to be invested in your team along with stakeholders as an interdisciplinary organization. Project planning is mandatory in management of database systems within organizations. Creating a system template for a project plan and following the discussed course improves daily workflow. Here is an example of a project plan for a small physician's office to implement a new EHR system.
One important part of leadership is to be able to share your knowledge with your audience, co-workers, employee's and peers. My experience as a liaison has provided me the ability to translate those skills to better understand the building blocks of government policy in the health and sciences. In order for mass change to happen, there needs to be a voice behind that change.
